Passport for wartime generation

If you are eligible and have applied for a passport since 19 May 2004, you should apply to the UK Passport Service for a refund.

In recognition of the sacrifices made by World War II veterans and civilians, every British national born on or before 2 September 1929 is now entitled to apply for a free ten-year passport from the UK Passport Service.

Applicants should apply for a passport in the normal way, but will not be charged if they are eligible for this scheme. If you are eligible and have applied for a passport since 19 May 2004, you should apply to the UK Passport Service for a refund.

For further information about your free ten-year passport, or how to apply for a refund, please visit the Identity & Passport Service or call the Passport Adviceline on 0870 521 0410 (calls charged at national rate).
