High Commissioner's accreditation (07/07/2009)
The British High Commission is pleased to announce that the British High Commissioner presented his credentials on Tuesday 7th July at 10.00am.
The new High Commissioner, Mr Matthew Forbes, O.B.E, was until recently, Head of Section, Mexico, Central America, Cuba, Dominican Republic & Haiti in the Foreign & Commonwealth Office in London.
Mr Forbes said” I am delighted to be in Seychelles and am looking forward to working closely with the government and people of this beautiful country. My arrival comes at an important time for both UK and EU relations with Seychelles as we all strive to tackle important world issues such as piracy and the economic downturn.”
Mr Forbes will be accompanied by his wife, Mrs Lydia Forbes.
